Caring for you and our environment
The Derwentwater Hotel is committed through its environmental policy
to operate in harmony whenever possible with its surroundings.
For some years now, we have worked alongside
English Nature towards enhancing our extensive wetlands
to form a naural but protected habitat for birds, mammals
and deer. It is delightful to sit in the conservatory
and watch red squirrels, mallards, hedgehogs and pheasants
foraging for food.

There are 16
acres of grounds to explore and the hotel boasts a unique
Wetlands
Walk that is on a site of Special Scientific Interest.
We also work with The
Lake District Tourism & Conservation Partnership
on projects in the local area to help improve and conserve
the Lake District.
